Eveline Albarracin has been Vice President & Managing Director of ANZPI, IMENA & TURKIYE at Brown-Forman for 3 years, but with 20 years experiences leading businesses, she’s no new kid on the block.

Eveline’s passion for building agile and effective organisational cultures is undeniable with Brown Forman ANZPI recently certified as a 2022 Great Place to Work. Did we mention they have a built-in office bar and weekly Thursday afternoon drinks?

We recently asked Eveline a few of our Abundium quick questions.

What is the best advice you've ever or never received about multinational leadership?

Dealing with multinational markets has been something that I've had to learn with regards to how to approach the markets and their different styles. When I joined Brown Forman, my boss recommended that I read a fantastic book called The Culture Map by Erin Meyer. I've read it several times now and it really helps you to understand the different styles and cultural nuances that are really important to know and to be able to adapt your style and communicate as effectively and efficiently as you can.

Do you have a favourite quote, concept or statistic about leadership that inspires you?

I'm a really big fan of Dr. Peter Fuda. One of the statements that he's made was [originally from Winston Churchill], “if you're going through hell, keep going”. As leaders, we go through difficult challenges.

We have some good times, but quite a lot of the time we have to deal with some really tricky situations and some big problems to. It can feel like you're in the darkness or you are in a valley, and it can be challenging. But when you're going through those moments, keep your head up high and just keep going.

What do you most value about the community? Any standout experiences?

I've loved every moment of being part of this amazing community. It really has inspired me to meet new MDs and CEOs of multinationals that are walking the same pathway that I'm working through.

The greatest value that I've received from being part of this forum, it's not only my own personal learning and development, but being able to connect in with others that are going through the journey, sharing our experiences and learning together in a safe environment.
