Former senior Apple executive Reuben Bijl to take on the role as Partner at Abundium, Australia’s only executive forum and representative group for leaders of foreign owned multinational corporations.
Abundium, Australia’s only networking and representative group for leaders of multinational corporations, has announced that former senior Apple executive Reuben Bijl has joined the Abundium team as Partner.
“Former Netflix Chief Talent Officer Patty McCord’s top tip when she spoke with Abundium as part of our Masterclass series, was ‘to not settle for someone that is just a culture fit, hire for culture add’. Reuben’s experience, passion, intellect and drive will be a fantastic ‘add’ to the culture of our community” said Abundium CEO and Co-Founder Rich Hirst.
“Reuben will also accelerate our ability to add value to members and their teams across Australia, New Zealand and Asia via his deep knowledge of technology, brand, and consumer behaviour as well as his extensive network and reputation across APAC.”
Mr Bijl, who has joined Abundium after spending over a decade working with tech giant Apple in senior executive roles across the ANZ and South Asia region, including 9-years as the Head of ‘Apple Initiatives.’
“What drew me to Abundium was the energy, vitality and growth mindset of the co-founders Rich and Dani, who have built an incredible community of world class multinational business leaders at Abundium,” said Reuben Bijl.
He has also seen first-hand the significant contribution of the foreign owned business community in Australia to creating jobs, community, and global connectivity. “That’s something I am extremely excited about supporting at Abundium.”
Mr Bijl further stated that as someone who has worked as a senior leader of a major multinational corporation, he had a deep appreciation for the challenges and opportunities of these leaders, aligning the aspirations of their international HQ with the local needs of operating in Australia.
“In today’s challenging global business environment business leaders need the ability to adapt and change rapidly, with access to a curated knowledge bank and a relevant support community, being created by Abundium, a powerful resource for these leaders.”
Abundium Co-Founder Dani Matthews said, “we’re thrilled to welcome Reuben Bijl as a Partner at Abundium—a values-aligned leader whose journey from captaining the Dutch national rugby team to driving impact at Apple across Southeast Asia brings a wealth of experience to our community.”
“Reuben’s leadership strengthens our commitment to representing the foreign-owned multinational community of global citizens. Rich and I couldn’t be more excited to bring our core values of #GetReal, #GiveForward, and #GoLarge to life with Reuben by our side."
